Insurance is an optional side bet available when the dealer's face-up card is an Ace. The insurance bet costs up to 50% of your original wager and pays 2:1 if the dealer has Blackjack.

If the dealer has Blackjack, the insurance bet wins regardless of the outcome of your main hand. If the dealer does not have Blackjack, the insurance bet is lost, and the hand continues normally.
